Marine Coastal Salvage Squad
Sign up to volunteer with Blue Seas Protection’s Marine Coastal Salvage Squad and help rid our beautiful sea of Coastline Debris that is too large, difficult or remote for individuals + organised Beach Cleans to remove.
We need determined muscle men and women to respond to public alerts of heavy, large, embedded debris stranded along our coastline. The Salvage Squad assess and remove the debris in targeted salvage ‘raids’ to rid our seas of dangerous materials. Coastal debris can be located in remote locations so training + equipment provided.
Sandown Beach Clean: Help the Sea Heal!
Want to get involved in some Marine Conservation + Direct Action? If Muscle Cars aren’t quite your thing, Sandtona also coincides with Blue Seas Protection’s monthly organised Beach Clean which will be targeting the beach directly opposite Browns Golf Club, starting at 10.30am until 12.00pm.
Sandown Beach Cleans happen every month, rain, wind or shine, on the 1st Sunday of every month 10.30am-12pm – Hunt for large plastics, micro-plastics, nurdles and bio-beads the sea has thrown-up onto the beach, let’s clear this stuff away and increase the Health of Sandown Bay. All warmly welcome, equipment provided, just dress for the weather!
