SharkLab LiVE! Summer Beach & Roadshow 2022

Sharklab roadshow trailer with 'stop the grind' sign

SharkLab LiVE! Summer Beach + Roadshow started in July 2022 with the two-day Noel Turner Science Festival at Cowes Enterprise College.

Over 1,000 school children visited the SharkLab’s ROV displays and mini sea trugs filled with shark eggs and seaweed. Blue Seas Protection divers joined up with Project Seagrass to collect seeds across two locations.

The Great Shark Snapshot Week followed, where Blue Seas Protection’s Dive and Research Vessel ‘Coastal Protector’ welcomed divers onboard to hunt for sharks around the Isle of Wight. No sharks were caught on film, but hatchling shark ray pups and seagrass were sighted off Osborne Bay!

Cowes Week saw the Coastal Protector conduct a Sea March to ‘Stop the Grind’ followed by SharkLab LiVE!’s visit to Ventnor Fringe and SharkLab’s new trailer’s first outing to The Chale Show.

SharkLab LiVE! BeachShows popped up in Compton, Brook, St Helen’s, Smallbrook Stadium and Ryde, ending with the SharkLab LiVE! Roadshow Trailer visit to Ryde’s Classic Car Roadshow, where families created shark graffiti street art!
